Article Processing Charges (APCs)
Advances in BioScience (ISSN 2583-0058) is committed to publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed research across all areas of the biological sciences. As an Open Access journal, all published articles are made freely available to readers worldwide without financial barriers. To sustain this model, a one-time Article Processing Charge (APC) is levied upon acceptance of each manuscript. These charges cover the full range of services required to publish high-quality scholarly content while ensuring long-term accessibility and integrity of published research. We are committed to keeping APCs as affordable as possible without compromising the quality or accessibility of the research we publish.
APC Fee Structure
The APC for Advances in BioScience is USD 100, applicable to all accepted articles regardless of their length or complexity.
Payment of the APC ensures your work is published under the terms of our Open Access Policy.
What the APC Covers
- Editorial Services: Covers manuscript submission management, peer review coordination, rigorous peer-review management, and editorial support throughout the publication process.
- Production Costs: Supports professional copyediting, typesetting, and formatting of accepted manuscripts to ensure adherence to professional publishing standards.
- Online Hosting and Maintenance: Funds the operation and upkeep of our online platform, guaranteeing continuous and unrestricted global access to published articles.
- Indexing and Archiving: Ensures that published articles are indexed in reputable databases and repositories, enhancing long-term discoverability and digital preservation.
- Marketing and Promotion: Supports the dissemination and visibility of published articles through outreach initiatives within the scientific community.
- Journal Administration: Contributes to the ongoing maintenance and development of the journal platform, ensuring a high-quality experience for both authors and readers.
Payment Information
The responsibility for paying the APC typically lies with the corresponding author. Authors are encouraged to explore Open Access funding opportunities available through their institutions or funding agencies. Detailed payment instructions will be provided upon manuscript acceptance. We accept multiple payment methods, including credit card, debit card, bank transfer, and wire transfer.
After completing payment, authors are requested to send a scanned copy of the receipt to editor@sospublication.co.in.
APC Waivers and Discounts
Advances in BioScience is committed to fostering equitable access to scientific publishing by supporting researchers globally, particularly those facing financial barriers. We recognize that Article Processing Charges (APCs) can pose significant challenges for authors without institutional funding, especially those from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) or under-resourced institutions.
To ensure that financial constraints do not impede the publication of high-quality research, we offer a limited number of APC waivers and discounts on a case-by-case basis. Support may be granted in the following circumstances:
- Authors from Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs): Reduced APC rates are available for authors affiliated with institutions in LMICs, as defined by the World Bank.
- Early-Career Researchers: Discounts may be offered to authors in the early stages of their careers (e.g., PhD students, postdoctoral fellows).
- Authors with Limited Funding: In exceptional circumstances, full or partial waivers may be granted to authors who can demonstrate financial hardship.
For inquiries regarding APCs, eligibility criteria, the application process, and the scope of available support authors may contact the Editorial Office at editor@sospublication.co.in.
